Additive sheet metal parts

A fast, timely and at the same time cost-effective production of sheet metal prototypes is often particularly difficult. The costs of tools and the time to make them are usually the knock-out criteria for a project that takes many weeks and quickly devours five-figure sums.

One possible solution is additive manufacturing. For one customer, five copies of the sheet metal part pictured above were printed at HENNgineered. The delivery time for this was less than a week. The cost advantage was about 80% compared to conventional sheet metal prototypes. The material used was stainless steel 1.4404, since the parts come into contact with food: an optimal solution for our customer.
