HYBRID COMPONENT MILLING AND ADDITIVE MANUFACTURING

For a medical technology assembly, we produced a hybrid component consisting of an additive and a machined part. The two metal parts were welded together to form a single component. The weld seam can withstand a pressure of up to 250 bar in use.

In addition to manufacturing the milled part, HENNgineered oversaw the fully automated post-processing of the 3D printed metal part in 3-shift operation. Fits and tolerances were also machined into the additively manufactured part. The results are reproducible and process-reliable in series production – despite the combination of different processes.
